As of the end of May, IDES has channeled over $695,490 in earthquake relief funds through more than two dozen Christian Church/ Church of Christ missions inside Haiti. Click here to see projects. So far through our GAP (God Always Prov-IDES) program we have packed 200,000 meals for Haiti. Click here to learn more about the "GAP" program. Within days of the January 12 earthquake, IDES began partnering with Christian Church / Church of Christ missionaries and national evangelists to feed the hungry, provide safe water, and acquire urgently needed medical supplies in many communities which suffered damage and devastation. Over the ensuing weeks our projects also focused on bringing those same necessities to unaffected areas throughout Haiti as survivors fled to many distant cities and villages. As the situation within Haiti changes, we will continue to fund projects to address the most pressing needs. Beyond the immediate and ongoing need for food, water and medical supplies; we have funded projects that address the need for shelter, clothing, transportation of relief supplies, and repairs to damaged mission properties that are urgently needed to accommodate the ongoing relief effort. |
