The Biggest Need In JoplinWe get a lot of questions on "what is the biggest need in Joplin right now?", or "how can we help?". Here is a statement from our on the ground DART coordinator in Joplin."We are finding that the greatest need in Joplin right now is housing. We (IDES) have started a construction phase, we are actually BUILDING houses for folks. It would be wonderful if people could start raising funds to help us construct a house for a family that has this need. A lot of families do have that need. Thousands are living in FEMA trailers, not knowing what the future holds. If you have the resources to adopt a family and put them back in their home, you will have given them what they need most right now. So much "stuff" has been sent to Joplin that some of it is just going to waste. This is a tall order, but many together can do this. It is Joplin's greatest need. IDES will use donated labor and will be wise in the use of the funds received in the purchase of materials to reconstruct these homes that have been destroyed.
