Day Forty - 2011

Today we are focusing on Somalia. Today is the last day of the manna project but you can donate to the effort at any time. The hunger crisis in Somalia and East Africa is growing but IDES is doing all that it can to help. Please keep praying for all of those around the world that are starving and for the people that have the opportunity to feed them. Thank you to all that have participated in the manna project but if you have not and still want to it is never too late. You can skip a meal or fast for a day any time and then give that money to the manna project. Donate to the manna project

Day Thirty Nine - 2011

Today we are focusing all of Africa. Situations all across Africa are dire as people are battling one of the worst famines on record. IDES has ongoing feeding programs in Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, and many more countries. Please continue to pray for those in Africa dealing with starvation and for the missionaries who are trying to help with hunger and water development in those countries.

Day Thirty Eight - 2011

Today we are focusing on Haiti. IDES is still working in Haiti on various projects and this week we have had a group from the US partner with IDES to work in Haiti. They have worked all week with Haitian Christian Mission and their primary focus was the construction of houses for those left homeless by the earthquake. They also helped with the medical clinic, school, and orphanage. You can find out about more IDES mission trips at: IDES Short Term Mission Trips

Day Thirty Seven - 2011

Today is feeding programs in the Philippines. Here are two separate feeding programs that feed children. IDES has ongoing hunger relief programs in the Philippines that are funded in part with programs like the manna project.

Day Thirty Six - 2011

Today we are focusing on the Harvest of Talents at Galesburg CC, in Galesburg, KS. Their HOT is on November 12th. Please pray for all of the volunteers and those who will come to our three remaining HOT's.

Oct. 15-16 Unity Christian Church - Marion, Indiana
Oct. 22-23 Lincoln Christian Church - Lincoln, Illinois
Nov. 12 Galesburg Christian Church - Galesburg, Kansas

100% of all funds raised will go to feed the hungry!

Day Thirty Five - 2011

Today we are focusing on all those who have or will be fasting during the manna project. There is still time to pick a day and fast for world hunger needs. Thank you to all that have participated so far. We have had some people even decide to only eat rice and beans or the kids against hunger food for an entire month. Gail Moffitt wrote, "For the month of September I am fasting and praying for those who are hungry in our community and around the world. Especially the famine in several African countries. I am eating one meal a day, only drinking water and having no dessert. It has been an amazing 8 days. Still fasting - I've noticed it being harder a for few days now, just ready to be done with it, I think. Then I remember those who have no choice but to be hungry. I find it hard to know how to pray for those in famine areas and especially those in Somalia with the violence all around them. It is good to know that God is God and sees all things. What a comfort that he is real and alive and bigger than the difficulties of this world. God is there to pull me through the hunger pains as he does those around the world." Thanks Gail and all of those who have participated thus far.

Will you help us by praying for this event? Will you help us by picking a day to fast or to only eat what the poor eat in third world countries? Will you help us by promoting this event to your friends and family?

It is so easy to make a difference in someone's life forever.

*For each new facebook like or follow on twitter 6 meals will be provided through the manna project for free.

*For each expensive coffee or dessert that is skipped and then that money is given to the manna project an entire family will be fed.

Please pass this on to your friends and post it in your churches. Together we can make a difference for world hunger.

Thank you, IDES
