Prayer Concerns
Prayer Requests based on Philippians 1:3-12 (NLT)
- “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.” (vs.3) Thank God for friendships that are made as we work together in His kingdom! What a blessing to be a part of the network of believers who cooperate together in the IDES ministry!
- “I always pray for you, and I make my requests with a heart full of joy because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.” (vs. 4,5) Praise God for faithful financial partners, making it possible for missionaries and Christian workers to share the hope of the gospel message as they offer help to people in desperate situations around the world. Pray that our base of support may increase, so that the IDES ministry may also increase.
- “And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.” (vs. 6) Ask God to give the IDES staff daily strength to work diligently, as we depend on Him to fulfill His purposes through us. Ask for wisdom for the IDES directors, as they continue to oversee the work and make decisions for the future. Pray for Rick as he seeks God's leading to fill three positions: Director of Development, Summer Intern, and Pearlington (MS) Church Planter.
- “I pray that your love for each other will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in your knowledge and understanding.” (vs. 9) Pray that the homeowners who have been helped by IDES both in the US gulf coast region and in the Indonesian tsunami area will hunger for more of Jesus. Pray that Christians working with these people may be motivated to keep learning, too, to build bridges of knowledge and understanding, effectively sharing the Bread of Life.
- “May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation- those good things that are produced in your life by Jesus Christ- for this will bring much glory and praise to God.” (vs. 11) Pray that God will honor our desire to glorify Him by remaining true to IDES' core values: Faith, Prayer, Integrity, Compassion, Generosity. May His Spirit produce this fruit in us, and reproduce more disciples through our ministry.
- “I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News.” (vs. 12) Ponder the greatness of our God-that He can use even tragic circumstances to transform lives! May we be faithful in using every opportunity to demonstrate His love to a lost and hurting world.
