Our Global Impact Fund allows us to respond immediately to needs in the US and around the world. It is our most important fund because it serves as an emergency fund for urgent, timely response efforts. The Global Impact Fund ensures we do not have to wait for funding to arrive before providing crucial aid in a disaster. Rather, our focus can be on helping those who are hurting and responding to immediate needs after natural or man-made disasters. This means IDES can quickly and efficiently provide clean water where there was none, food for starving families, medical care for the hurting, homes for those who have lost everything, and the Gospel to be shared with those who have not heard.

What is the Global Impact Fund?

Aung's Story

Aung is 74 years old and lives in Myanmar. As with many people in Myanmar, his life is difficult. He and his wife are homeless. They have children, but the children have abandoned them. Aung can no longer work, so he and his wife have a hard time surviving. Life became even more difficult after an earthquake struck his country in March of 2025. Food and clean water were hard to find and his city was in chaos. IDES worked with trusted partners in Myanmar to respond immediately after the earthquake struck, using Global Impact Funds to ensure people received the resources they needed without delay. Our partners met Aung and were able to provide food for him and his wife. Aung was a strong Buddhist and though our partner tried to share about Jesus while giving him food, he initially refused to listen. The next night, Aung had a dream about Jesus and was then willing to learn more from our partner. He decided he wanted to accept Jesus as his Lord and was baptized! Global Impact Funds allow IDES to move quickly after disasters strike - ensuring that people like Aung receive the help and hope they desperately need.
