IDES FIELD WORKERS

What's a Field Worker?

An IDES Field Worker is a disciple of Jesus who lives and invests in communities long-term through development and disciple-making. When disaster strikes, they are already present and equipped to respond with help, hope, and the love of Christ.

The Vision:

IDES Field Workers are cross-cultural and national servants who are cross-trained in disaster response, sustainable development, and disciple-making. Serving within local communities, they provide immediate relief in times of crisis, support long-term solutions that foster resilience and self-sufficiency, and encourage community-based discipleship. Through this integrated approach, they advance the mission of Jesus by demonstrating His compassion in both word and deed.

Development:

Field Workers serve long-term within communities, fostering transformational and sustainable change through collaborative relationships and holistic development. Their work includes initiatives such as clean water projects, vocational training, medical care, anti-sex trafficking and abuse prevention efforts, and sports ministries.

Disciple Making:

Field Workers are equipped through Integral Disciple-Making (IDM) to strengthen local churches and develop leaders. After disasters, they offer trauma-informed Bible studies, plant churches, and multiply disciples.

Disaster Response:

Field Workers build relationships with local responders before disasters occur, allowing for rapid, proactive response. In crisis, they provide compassionate aid alongside churches, agencies, and community leaders—meeting physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while supporting long-term recovery.

In 2022, we began praying for God’s direction on how to expand our international disaster response and development efforts. God answered, and began laying on our hearts an idea which eventually developed into a decision to expand our team with addition of long-term Field Workers.

We can’t wait to see how God uses our team to grow His Kingdom as we continue praying for new opportunities both with our existing field workers and with new ones to come in the future!

A foundation of prayer...
