INTERNSHIPS and RESIDENCIES

An internship at IDES offers college-aged individuals invaluable hands-on experience in their chosen field. You'll have the chance to apply your skills and education in a real-world environment, working alongside a dedicated team of like-minded individuals. If you're eager to contribute to global initiatives, starting with projects within your department, a local internship with us could be an excellent fit.

We accept interns in our Advancement Department (media and church relations), International Aid Department, U.S. Disaster Response Department, and Finance Department.

Housing is available for interns if needed.

This is a paid opportunity.

Local internships have a flexible time range but typically last 8-10 weeks.

Local Internships

An Overlook:

We accept two interns annually with only one being deployed at a time.

This ten-week program begins with one week of training locally in the IDES office followed by nine weeks in your international location.

Interns are responsible for raising the money needed to support this trip. The amount needed is dependent upon the country where an intern serves.

We would love for you to consider an international internship with IDES if you're a college-aged individual passionate about missions and eager to travel. Our international interns serve worldwide, collaborating with mission partners in diverse countries to learn and work. This opportunity is ideal for those pursuing a missions-related education or career who are excited by new locations and cultures and are driven to learn, serve, and share their faith in various ways.

International Internships

This program is ten months long, divided into three sections:

LEARN: The initial section is focused on learning and taking in the information needed to work well.

LEAD: In this period, residents begin to dive into the work directly, receiving increasing amounts of responsibility.

LAUNCH: Under the guidance of their team, residents make their way into the workforce. Our residency program will run between August and June of the coming year. Residents will receive regular advising from their department heads.

An Overlook:

This structured program offers residents an intensive experience within one of our departments. It is designed for individuals who are eager to integrate into our team, passionate about the work they are pursuing, and excited by the opportunity to develop into workforce-ready professionals who consistently deliver excellence.
