IDES’ Harvest of Talents program is our only program that supports partners on a monthly basis. We use the money raised at Harvest of Talents events in the United States to support various feeding programs around the world. In 2026, we’re supporting 10 different feeding programs in 8 countries. These programs not only provide food to people in need, but they present repeated opportunities to share the Gospel and disciple people in the ways of Jesus.
Our partner in Tanzania uses their Harvest of Talents funds to feed 250 orphaned and impoverished children each Saturday of the year. The kids receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch each weekend, which for some of them, are the only good meals they have each week. Local church leaders teach them Bible lessons and volunteers provide tutoring to the children. Each Saturday, the children leave knowing that they are loved and cared for by our partner and by God.
Maura is 11 years old and is the 3rd of 5 siblings. His father has passed away and his mom is doing her best to provide for the family. Maura’s uncles told him that he needs to “earn his keep”, so Maura works hard shepherding sheep and goats. He wasn’t attending school until he started attending our partner’s feeding program and they were able to get him into school. Our partner learned that Maura was eating the bare minimum at home to ensure that his younger siblings had enough to eat. Saturdays are the only days he has a full belly. Maura shared that after his father died, he felt like God had forgotten him. Once he began taking part in the feeding program and was reminded that God sees him and cares for him, while also having his physical needs met, his faith was strengthened. Maura is just one of 250 children from similar situations that our partner is caring for. Please pray that they would be physically and spiritually nourished through this program!
