Kosovo Legacy Church

Kosovo

2026

IDES has been working with a partner in Kosovo for over 20 years. Our work together began shortly after the civil war in Kosovo ended, when IDES was able to assist our partner with various projects including food relief, home repairs, and agriculture projects throughout the years. More recently, our partner has been part of our Harvest of Talents program. We are grateful for the work the Lord has done through our partnership and that many people have come to Christ as a result.

While there has long been a church, a variety of barriers have prevented the church from having its own building. God has opened doors recently that have allowed this possibility for the first time. This is significant because in Kosovo, having a church building tells the community that the church is there to stay. Kosovo is predominately Muslim and it can be relationally difficult for people to leave Islam to become followers of Jesus. By owning their own building, the church becomes a permanent place of refuge for people who may lose their friends and family.

Our partner is currently in the process of acquiring a building in the middle of their city. It’s in a high traffic area, already has a coffee shop that can be used as an outreach to the community, and has room to grow into. God has orchestrated many moving pieces and many people to contribute to this to make it possible, and we’re grateful that IDES is able to play a small role. We’re excited to see how God will use this new building to continue to reach Kosovo!
