Indiana Flooding

Indiana, USA

August 2026

Following the severe flooding across Indiana last week, IDES is taking action to assist affected homeowners in several central & eastern Indiana communities including Anderson, Cambridge City, Connersville, Hagerstown, Pendleton, and Noblesville.

Numerous local communities have been impacted, leaving families to deal with power outages, property damage, lost possessions, and a difficult path ahead.

On August 17 our US Disaster Response Team began mobilizing volunteers to assist homeowners with “Phase One” clean up & recovery efforts which include: removing debris and flood damaged items from homes, mucking out water and sediment, removing saturated carpet and other floor coverings, cutting drywall above the saturation line, removing wet insulation, and taking measures to increase air circulation to promote quicker drying.

For the first several weeks, our response efforts will primarily focus on cleanup activities, debris removal and mucking out damaged homes.  As those efforts continue, we will begin evaluating the needs within each community, and our ability to be involved with longer term repair and recovery efforts.
