In Eastern KY and the surrounding areas, IDES came to assist churches with their communities recovering from flood damage. The flooding was broad, and we are working with churches in the Eastern KY region. IDES teams were able to help cleanup after the disaster and build 20 sheds.
UPDATE (March 25, 2026)
We've had so many amazing volunteers joining us in Kentucky. If you want to come join us, we are still in need of volunteers through the end of July to help us finish strong.
UPDATE (January 21, 2026)
It's been almost a year since we started working in Eastern KY, and the end is in sight! We currently have 6 active rebuilds in progress. We've finished 3 complete home rebuilds and completed 31 clean-up projects. We're excited to see all that God has done here in Eastern Kentucky, and thankful to all our volunteers who have made this possible.
UPDATE (April 30, 2025)
We have received over 90 requests for assistance to gut out homes (clearing away water damaged material from home interiors!). We have already completed 22 cleanup projects and have 5 rebuilding projects in process. We have over 27 rebuild requests and more continue to come in! As the need grows, pray for wisdom as we figure out how to manage our team and find leaders to help us on site.
UPDATE (February 26, 2025)
Mason is currently in Pike County and visiting churches throughout Eastern KY. Several churches have been damaged along with their communities. We are signing up volunteers and will be doing our clean-up phase out of Coal Run Church of Christ in Pikeville, KY.
