August 2023
In early August 2023, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui taking the lives of at least 100 people and destroying thousands of homes and buildings. We were able to help dozens of families left homeless by providing shelter and food in this difficult time.
UPDATE (October 2023)
In October 2023, IDES’ staff visited the island of Maui to meet with the ministers helping victims and the victims themselves. They witnessed the devastation and the incredible need for those affected by the wildfires. Thanks to your donations, IDES’ staff also witnessed the spiritual impact it has had on the lives of the wildfire victims.
