Mindanao, Philippines was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on June 8, 2026. The earthquake also triggered a small tsunami and landslides. As a result, 61 people have died and tens of thousands of people have been displaced. We have longtime partners in the Philippines who are actively responding to the needs with the support of IDES. Our partners are assessing the damage to homes and church buildings, as well as distributing immediate relief items.
